Use of analytical programmes
The responsible body carries out analyses concerning the behaviour of its customers in the context of their use of its service, or has these carried out by others. For this purpose, anonymised or pseudonymised user profiles are compiled. Such user profiles are compiled for the sole purpose of continually improving the service of the responsible body.

As part of its web analysis, the responsible body also makes use of Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). For this, the responsible body uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. This means that IP addresses are only processed in a shortened form, to preclude direct identification of any individual. The consent for data collection and storage carried out in this context can be withdrawn at any time with future effect.

Google requires its users, such as the responsible body, to include the guidance below in their privacy policy. The responsible body is complying with this request by reproducing the following text: “Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files which are stored on your computer and which enable the way you use the website to be analysed. The information the cookie generates about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the US and stored there. Google uses this information to evaluate your utilisation of the website, to compile reports on website activities for the website owners and to provide further services relating to the way in which the website and the internet are used. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required, provided this is legally required or where third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will never associate your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being installed by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly. However, please be aware that this may prevent you from making full use of all the functions on this website. By using this website, you consent to Google processing the data collected about you in the manner and for the purposes set out above.”

Use of cookies
The responsible body uses so-called “cookies” to individually shape and develop the online experience of the customer and the time they spend online. A cookie is a text file that is either temporarily placed in the working memory of the computer (“session cookie”) or stored on the hard drive (“permanent cookie”). The information cookies contain includes, for example, information about the user’s access to the relevant server to date and information on which offers or services have been viewed so far. Cookies are not used to run programmes or download viruses onto your computer. The main purpose of cookies is much rather to provide an offering tailored to the individual customer and to make the use of the service as convenient as possible.

The responsible body uses session cookies as well as permanent cookies.

Session cookies
The responsible body mainly uses “session cookies”. These are not stored on the customer’s hard drive and are deleted when the browser is exited. In this context, session cookies are used for login authentication and for load balancing (balancing the system load).

Permanent cookies
In addition, the responsible body uses so-called “permanent cookies”. These serve to store the personal user settings which a customer enters when accessing the responsible body’s services, which in turn allows the service provision to be personalised and improved. The permanent cookies enable the responsible body to ensure that the customer will find their personal settings in place when they next visit the website. In addition, the service providers that have been commissioned by the responsible body to analyse user behaviour also deploy permanent cookies to allow them to recognise returning users. These service providers always store the information transmitted by the cookie anonymously. The allocation to the customer’s IP address is not retained.

(1) Preventing cookies
The customer has the option to refuse the setting of cookies at any time. This usually occurs by means of choosing the relevant option in the browser settings or by means of additional programmes. Further details can be found in the help function of the browser used on the customer side. If the customer opts to disable cookies, this may reduce the range of services provided and may have a negative effect when accessing the services of the responsible body.

Use of Facebook social plugins
On its website, the responsible body uses social plugins (“plugins”) of the social networking site facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are marked with the Facebook logo. When the customer calls up a webpage of the responsible body that contains such a plugin, the customer’s browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is directly transmitted to the customer’s browser, which then integrates it into the webpage.

Through the integration of the plugins, Facebook is informed that the customer has called up the respective webpage of the responsible body’s internet presence. If the customer is logged in on Facebook, Facebook can link the customer’s visit to their Facebook account. If the customer interacts with the plugins, for example by clicking on the “Like” button or by providing a comment, the customer’s browser directly transmits the relevant information to Facebook, where it is then stored. Information on the purpose and extent of this data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as the customer’s rights in relation thereto and the settings options for protecting their personal privacy can be found in the Facebook data privacy statement.

If the customer does not want Facebook to collect data in the aforementioned manner, the customer must log off from Facebook before visiting the internet presence of the responsible body. For information on the purpose and extent of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook, as well as your rights in relation thereto and the settings options for protecting your personal privacy please see the Facebook data privacy statement: www.facebook.com/policy.php. If you have a Facebook account and don’t want Facebook to collect data about you and link it to your Facebook account details via our internet presence, you must log off Facebook before visiting our internet presence. It is also possible to block Facebook social plugins via add-ons for your browser, for example with the “Facebook blocker”.

Use of Google fonts
We use Google Fonts on our website. This enables us to integrate certain fonts into our website. These fonts are provided by Google via servers in the US. When calling up our website, the customer’s web browser establishes a direct connection to these servers. In the course of this, the IP address of the customer is transmitted to Google and stored there.
